Ben's Billboard

I am very much looking forward to seeing the reviews to the following films in which I had different
levels of responsibility.

SPECIES: THE AWAKENING
Making this movie took me to Mexico City for the second time. The first time I went there was to make
a vampire movie called “Nightlife,” and again I was reminded what a contrast of cultures that
enormous city has. I think the movie will be a worthy addition to the series (this is number 4), and it
was a role that was challenging both physically and mentally. I have not seen it yet, but those friends
of mine who have seen private screenings in the U.S. have said it's terrific. And my friends don't lie!

HERO WANTED
I really enjoyed playing opposite Cuba Gooding Junior's character though, to be honest, I felt that
my character kind of fizzled out without a satisfying conclusion. But we shall see.

NUREMBERG: NAZIS ON TRIAL
I enjoyed very much portraying Rudolf Hess. He was a very complex and interesting character. It
would have been too easy to play the two-faced Nazi OR to play him simply as mad. History has not
been able to make up its mind so I, in the context of the script I was given, decided to not play him
either way. I chose to go an ambiguous route to let the audience make up their own minds just like
the historians.

WAR, INC.
This is probably the shortest and weirdest role I have ever played in a movie. I have no idea how the
film will turn out but I am intrigued.

WHEN NIETZSCHE WEPT
This is a movie that I am very proud of. It was an opportunity to work with Armand Assante who took
my breath away with his passion, his knowledge of the subject and his incredible understanding of
his character. It was an honour to serve him in this film and I think people will be very surprised by
the gifts he has brought to bear while portraying one of the most complex human beings ever born.

And on a different “note”...

THE APOLLONIA FESTIVAL
Singing with Vasil Petrov, Bulgaria's latter day Sinatra, I sang two duets, "A Foggy Day in London
Town" and "I Get a Kick Out of You" as well as singing with the whole company at the end "My Way"
and "New York, New York". The concert was a sell-out success with encore after encore. I was proud
to have been invited to take part. Also, one of the 5 songs I have co-written with Vasil was performed
for the first time. This song was one of the highlights of the concert. Stay tuned for samples…
